Noor Mahal – one of the amazing, maintained master piece in Bahawalpur. The entry is for just Rs. 30 and if you like old buildings.. this place is a must visit. I was surprises that this palace and a few others are taken care by the Army. Hats off.. a job well done

The old Bahawalpur area.. near Farid gate.. is a mox of different named bazaar with alot of old buildings and hidden temple remains. So worth the visit. Best is to stay near the Larri Adda (main bus junction) as you can get transport from here easily

Noor Mahal – Exterior i am no fan of nawabs(royalties) who betrayed the locals and sided with the British imperialist, who are more “angrezi” than “desi”, but this palace is indeed very exquisitely charming. it is now under the care of Pakistani Army and definitely a cherry on top of our Bahawalpur visit

The Sadiq jame Mosque in Bahawalpur.. built in a very inreresting way with shops under it and a market of interesting shops around it. Had a good tour of the place by a local bou Muzammil. Oh and we were also allowed to take pictures and walk around unlike most other mosques. A really nice interesting old area to visit in Bahawalpur

Sadiq Jame’ Mosque, Bahawalpur we were lucky to have come across Muzzamil when we entered the mosque compound. he has just finished praying and about to leave. when he saw us, we started having conversation and he took us on a ‘tour’ around the serene mosque. he told us he has never been to school and he runs a small shop at the chowk. we went to his shop afterwards and bought a few hankies, a sock and a singlet.

Bahawalpur Central Library. me and my best-friend, Anue used to spend our times in Melaka library almost everyday when we were taking our SPM (o’level) and STPM(a’level) exams. if our library was as majestic-looking as this, i bet we would have packed our bags and freaking moved in into the building!! i knew i would! or at least camp outside at the park. yeap, this is in Pakistan!

The central library in Bahawalpur – an amazing architecture of Italian variety lends the building old world charm. The structure is, in fact, an edifice of Bahawalpur’s identity – a relic of its glorious culture. So worth the visit on your trip to the city. We were surprised how well maintained the place was.. and to add to the visit the Bahawalpur musuem is right next door.
